CNC Turning

Turning
CNC Turning is the selective removal of material from a round part using a cutter that follows a path defined by a program. The part is held in a chuck to transfer the rotary motion to the part and hold it firmly in place while the tool is doing the cutting. If the part is long, then a tailstock is used to hold the opposite end during the cut. CNC lathes generally hold several tools used for different operations such as threading and grooving in addition to turning.
We have a CNC Lathe with a capacity of 10" in diameter x 24" in length

At FP&M we can put our Lathe to work for you, whether it is a prototype or single replacement part, or thousands. We look forward to hearing about your project!
